A CBL has 6 data collection channels which allow the user to collect data on 5 channels simultaneously.
| 3 analog channels | 2 digital channels | 1 sonic channel |
Data can be collected at a rate of up to 10,000 points per second, 512 points per channel
The CBL can be controlled by a TI 82/85 calculator, or it functions as a stand alone multimeter. CBL has an AUTOIDENT function that allows it to identify some probes when they are placed in channel one.
All of the data collected by the CBL can be uploaded and analyzed on a TI 82/85 calculator.
The TI 82/85 calculators and the CBL communicate in a language very similar to computer BASIC, making programming simple.
TI operates two listserver discussion groups for users of their products, CALC-TI and GRAPH-TI. GRAPH-TI is specifically designed for educators and offers teachers using TI Graphing Calculators a forum for discussion of their successes and problems. Send "help" as the text of an E-Mail message to listserv@lists.ppp.ti.com
